The Kitchen Transformation, OMG!

The is where we started and where we are now

Well folks we have had a long journey with this particular house. I am going to start by showing you the journey we have with the kitchen. Yes we actually did purchase the house even with the kitchen looking like this lol. Fortunately I have vision and my husband has ability so it works out good. Later on I will show more pictures of the other parts of the house when we moved in to show you the interesting choice of paint colors on the first floor. This was listed as a custom paint job I am not sure who’s custom it was but WOW. There was also the matter of the stove. Hate hate hate loath entirely as the Grinch would say. At this point in time I had not gotten to the farmhouse style either I was still in the colonial mode. There will be more about this later. Because we had to move out of the house we were renting very fast we just went with it to start and moved in. mind you we moved in 9 days before Christmas!!

This picture was taken shortly after we moved into the house. The only addition outside of the decorations was the addition of the microwave. But this was just not getting it. I decided the best plan would be to get a new stove and paint the entire first floor white. Figuring this would be a good place to start with a blank canvas. I secretly think that I was already leaning towards the farmhouse style and I could just justify changing everything in the house all at once. So we started that project yep take everything down move it around and paint the entire first floor. Just to share what a job this was I am putting pictures of the rest of the first floor below.

Yep for real folks many different really dark colors. This took like three coats of paint in most cases. What a job. Painting is the biggest bang for the buck but is also a tedious job but we got it done. I also got my new stove thank the lord above because that had to happen.

So this is where we got to at that point. Thank god for the new stove. We did not have the money at the time to get a new refrigerator but I had a plan for that as well. I will share the first change to the cabinets and the fridge. But I wanted you to get the idea of what we were working with, more of the never ending story to follow!
